Slideshows leave much to be desired, especially when it comes to tech demos. PowerPoint presentations can prove to be ineffective, but on the other hand, if you present an unfinished piece of software live, you may encounter unforeseen bugs or other problems. DemoEasel offers a balanced solution to this issue. It gives you the possibility of showcasing your software applications or other contents in a like in a slideshow, but it also offers an interactive experience.

DemoEasel is free to try, with some minor limitations. It works on all popular Windows platforms and it can be installed in a few moments. The software doesn't have any special requirements and it uses an insignificant amount of disk space, RAM and processing power.

When launched, the program will present a home screen, with a few instructions, for three simple steps and a list of saved presentations. Creating a new demo is quite easy. All you have to do is click a button and pay attention to the on-screen instructions, after which the program will take its interface out of the way and start recording and you will be able to carry on with your work.

Once you are done capturing, DemoEasel will provide you with a preview on a new window, on which you can also find cropping options. The recorded footage is saved in just a few seconds, after which you can start presenting your demo. You can play it step by step, using the arrow keys on the keyboard, but you can also follow the program's instructions to click in specific spots.

While you record, the program will remember all your mouse clicks and it will highlight them in the presentation. Furthermore, it will instruct the user to click in those specific spots themselves, so they can get familiar with your product faster and easier. Another useful feature is the possibility of exporting demos, in HTML format or as a simulation. This means that your demos can be played on other computers, without installing DemoEasel on those machines.
